Typically found in afghanica cannabis strains (“indica”), guaiol is a sesquiterpenoid alcohol found in cypress and guaiacum (a genus of five slow-growing shrubs and trees native to the tropical Americas); Guaiacum itself has been in use as a treatment for coughs, arthritis and syphilis for centuries. Guaiol is also an effective insect repellent.

Aroma: woody, rosy, floral

Effects: antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, laxative, diuretic
