These days, millennials are faced with immense challenges: Climate change, immense prejudice towards minorities overtaking many areas of the United States, and even financial difficulties thanks to rising rent rates.

HOW DO MILLENNIALS FEEL ABOUT ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE?

32-40% of Millennials use alternative medicine, so quite a few of them are totally on board. Of course, some are more skeptical than others but, by and large, there is widespread support for holistic forms of treatment.

4 Reasons Alternative Medicine Might Worth Considering

While the holistic care community often gets a bad rep, there is actually quite a bit of efficacy to many methods, and more and more research is coming out to support that. In fact—as long as you are working with someone who is sufficiently qualified in the field—the results could be strongly preferable.

1. FEWER SIDE EFFECTS

Holistic methods do actually come with fewer side effects, and the symptoms are far less severe than those that often accompany the consumption of the vast majority of pharmaceuticals.

2. AN INDUSTRY THAT PUTS PEOPLE BEFORE PROFITS

We cannot emphasize this enough: Too often, healthcare organizations in the United States of America will put profits before people and are not actually there to serve you, the client, and help you genuinely feel better.

Instead, they will give you options that require ongoing treatment and keep you in pain so that they can make an extra buck.

On the other hand, holistic healthcare practitioners will only give you alternative medicines that require ongoing treatment if that is actually what you need the vast majority of the time.

You deserve to put yourself first and do business with an ethical industry!

3. FEWER APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED

This is not always the case, but it is a lot of the time: If you work with natural healthcare practitioners, generally, fewer appointments are required.

This means you have more time to pursue your dreams and career goals, enjoy your family and friends, and do all the other activities you love.

4. YOU HAVE OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO PAYMENT

Different physicians vary, but many will give you the opportunity to simply pay out of pocket for your healthcare needs: While this is expensive, it’s also (arguably) well worth it because you don’t have to deal with copays and insurance companies.

Of course, many holistic healthcare practitioners will also work with insurance companies to cover the cost (or at least part of it) so, if that’s what you’d prefer, you’re usually still in good hands.

A lot of people are turning to alternative forms of care, and for a good reason. That being said, quite a few individuals are actually combining conventional treatment with more holistic methods and garnering incredible results.

It’s essential to work with your healthcare provider to determine which course of action is best for you personally.

MILLENNIAL PERSPECTIVES ON WEED VERSUS ALCOHOL

Many millennials tend to believe that weed is, in fact, less harmful than alcohol. While the answer is rather complicated—marijuana simply has different side effects that are more long-term than alcohol’s if one smokes too much of it—it does have zero calories though, so this appeals to a lot of the young health enthusiasts out there!

The statistics

  • Across 21+ age segments, 71% of consumers think marijuana is healthier than alcohol.
  • 79% of Millennials believe cannabis is healthier than alcohol.
  • 63% of the members of Gen X believe that Mary Jane is better for you than booze.
  • 75% of Boomers think that marijuana is healthier than alcoholic beverages.

By and large, most people seem to think this is the case.

We will say that cannabis does have a multitude of beneficial properties—if used correctly—while alcohol absolutely does not.

HOW DO MILLENNIALS FEEL ABOUT MARIJUANA?

Those who were born between 1980 and 2000 are defined as millennials.

Generally speaking, people born in this generation share the following traits:

  • They are tech-savvy.
  • They’re quick learners.
  • They communicate quickly.
  • They question long-held values that are (arguably) not as effective in today’s world as they once were.

Here are the statistics

  • Nearly 55 million adults residing in the United States are currently consuming marijuana and more than 35 million of them are regular users.
  • Over 50% of those who reported using cannabis were part of the millennial generation.
  • Up to 76% of millennials believe that Mary Jane should be legal for recreational and medicinal purposes.
  • Nearly 90% of millennials claim that weed is safer than booze.

We think it’s clear from these numbers that the vast majority of millennials are unabashed supporters of legalizing marijuana. The plant does have many benefits, and, when consumed recreationally, it can provide a lovely high much different from the buzz one gets from alcohol.

That being said, cannabis does have a few long-term side effects a lot of people are unaware of, especially if one smokes too much of it too frequently.

There are definitely some generational divides when it comes to the overall population’s acceptance of marijuana, although numerous individuals support legalizing the plant for medicinal purposes.

The older boomers (65 and up) are largely against the legalization of cannabis: 44% said they would support access to the plant for all, but 49% are opposed to that line of thinking.

While there is quite a bit of friction surrounding the legalization of recreational marijuana because many people are concerned about the addictive qualities of the plant and parents are worried that their children will smoke too much of the substance, a staggering 93% of the population supports the medical legalization of cannabis.

Even some politicians are on board, although an enormous amount of controversy continues to swirl around this issue: Some have even gone so far as to clear the criminal records of anyone who was jailed for possessing marijuana and clear the plant from lists consisting of “controlled substances.”

THE POPULATION’S VIEW ON MEDICAL VERSUS RECREATIONAL CANNABIS

Fortunately, quite a few people have opened up to the idea of legalizing recreational marijuana, but there are still a lot of skeptics out there: The word on the street is that this habit can significantly reduce productivity levels!

This is true, but only if one consumes too much of it too regularly.

The statistics

  • 49% of millennials support the legalization of recreational Mary Jane.
  • 29% of millennials support the legalization of recreational and medicinal marijuana.
  • 22% of millennials support the legalization of medical cannabis.
  • 50% of boomers support the legalization of medical marijuana.
  • 28% of boomers support the legalization of recreational Mary Jane
  • 22% of boomers support the legalization of cannabis for recreational and medicinal purposes.

You might be wondering why there is such a small percentage of support for medical marijuana from the millennial generation: The answer is that they may be misinformed or have misconceptions around cannabis.

At Inyo Fine Cannabis Dispensary, we aim to educate all, starting from our local patients and recreational cannabis users in Las Vegas.

MOST MILLENNIALS THINK MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALIZED FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES

The vast majority of millennials do indeed feel that marijuana should be legalized for recreational use as an avenue for social change: Namely, the justice system often targets non-white individuals who possess the substance, while Caucasians can more easily dodge the law, landing countless individuals in jail for very minor offenses.

Additionally, they tend to see cannabis as less dangerous than alcohol and less detrimental to their health: A lot of millennials struggle with migraines, and a bit of cannabis eases the pain while helping them relax.

Boomers, on the other hand, usually only use cannabis for medicinal reasons, and are more skeptical of the plant by and large.

The market size for cannabis was already a staggering $10.6 billion in 2018.

Now it’s projected to reach almost $100 billion by 2026.

By and large, we have millennials to thank for this boom.

THE 5 BENEFITS OF GETTING CANNABIS FROM A TRUSTED LOCAL DISPENSARY

There are actually quite a few benefits to shopping for cannabis from the best local cannabis dispensary.

1. YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED THE CORRECT STRAIN AND DOSAGE

The brutal truth of the matter is that, when you get your weed from your buddy next door, you may not actually get the best strain to meet your individual needs.

On the other hand, if you work with a dispensary and budtender, you will be advised on the correct dosage and strain for your specific challenges. Inyo Fine Cannabis Dispensary

3. YOU CAN LEARN ACCURATE INFORMATION ABOUT CANNABIS

There is so much information on the internet these days that it can be hard to sort out exactly what the solution to your specific ailment or needs is.

Additionally, each individual responds slightly differently to marijuana, so it’s nearly impossible to deduce the correct dosage and strain simply from doing multiple Google searches.

When you shop with a trusted dispensary, the staff can actually guide you in the right direction and provide you with valuable information about exactly what will help you feel better. They will then suggest you the correct strain and dosage to reduce any side effects you might be experiencing.

4. YOU CAN ADJUST YOUR DOSAGE IF IT ISN’T WORKING FOR YOU

The trouble with getting weed behind the table is that it can sometimes be a struggle to know just how much is actually too much. Having a conversation with a cannabis expert can lead to better solutions and adjust your consumption.

5. YOU CAN SUPPORT AN INDUSTRY THAT PUTS PEOPLE BEFORE PROFITS

The trouble in America is that so many companies put profits before people: It’s all about the money, and not much else!

Unfortunately, this has led to a slew of problems in this country, including corrupt politicians and inordinately expensive rental prices.

When you spend your hard-earned cash in exchange for treatment from a marijuana doctor, you can most definitely trust that these people have your back: Our primary goal is to help you feel better for an extended period of time!
